Chrysalis and Amazon Bookstore Cooperative move to South Mpls.
Chrysalis, a multi-service agency for women, and Amazon Bookstore Cooperative, the oldest feminist bookstore in the country, moved to a new building in South Minneapolis in mid-July. Chrysalis built the new building at 4432 Chicago Ave. S, Minneapolis, and leases space to Amazon Bookstore, which was located in Loring Park in downtown Minneapolis. Officials at Chrysalis, which was located 2650 Nicollet Ave., had been looking for new space for its main office for more than two years to better accommodate the 22,000 clients they see each year and to expand services. The move also gives Amazon Bookstore more retail space and better parking. Amazon also has an independent coffee shop in its new store.
